17 weeks Electro Technical Officer Course is a pre-sea training course approved by Directorate General of Shipping (DGS). The course is designed to give adequate knowledge and skill to candidates to take on the responsibility as Electro Technical Officer in Merchant ships.
Electro-Technical Officers Course is a specialized course which is mandatory to those who want to serve on ships. The pre-sea course is conducted at Anglo-Eastern Maritime Academy, Karjat (AEMA) and deals with … initial familiarization with ship board systems, equipment’s and machineries involved in the operation of the vessels.
The relevant electrical/ electronic equipment’s, control and automation systems, will be dealt with in detail to enable the candidate nurture decision making for troubleshooting, rectification of defects. The course makes the candidate aware of the risks involved at sea and importance of imbibing the safety culture.
Upon successful completion of the classroom training, cadets are awarded with pre-sea course completion certificate and qualified to join a ship as an Electro Technical Officer, where he/she is required to complete at least 6 months’ training service in merchant navy vessels.
Upon completion of the training period, one is to awarded with Certificates of Competency (CoC) under new category of technically qualified and trained officer. The course consists of 17 weeks (4 months) of long classroom (pre-sea) training and 10 months long onboard training where the cadet is entitled to stipend, free boarding & lodging.
Please Note:
i) Candidates seeking admissions to Marine Programmes are strongly recommended to have Passports. Please note that the name in the Passport should be the same as given in the 10th Std. Certificate.
ii) Admission to this course is granted after fulfilling below mentioned eligibility criteria.

Educational Qualification
The candidate should hold a Bachelor's Degree
In class 12th or equivalent have scored minimum 65% marks in PCM or Diploma aggregate 65%.
For Diploma candidates with lateral entry to 2nd year of B.Tech, need to have scored 65% and above in Diploma followed by the Degree eligibility criteria.
English
Should have obtained not less than 50% marks in English as a separate subject, at either 10th or 12th standard conducted by a recognized Board/ University.

Physically fit and should meet the medical requirements as specified by DGS guidelines, eyesight 6/12 in each eye without visual aids and no colour blindness.

How To Apply
Candidate is supposed to take Anglo Eastern online test. Please click on APPLY NOW button below to register for the same.
After submission of online application, candidate will receive an email with details of the payment for the online entrance test.
Payment
The payment of the fees for online Entrance Test is to be made online.
Once the payment is done, candidate will receive a confirmation email, wherein a URL Link will be provided to book seat for Online Entrance Test.Candidates can choose their desired test centre and date/ time slot on which they would like to appear (based on availability) and book the seat accordingly.
Seat Booking Instructions
Candidates who pass the online entrance test and psychometric evaluation will further be called for a “Panel Interview” at Mumbai or Delhi.

The test consists of 2 sections,

Panel Interview
Shortlisted candidates who’ll pass the online tests, shall be notified via email to appear for an interview. The interviews will be held on specific dates either at Mumbai or Delhi. A candidate is required to present himself in formal attire (with tie). Candidates are required to carry the original mark sheets and certificates of X, Xll and Degree certificates, as applicable. While due weightage is given to Academics, achievements in extra-curricular activities, sports etc are stressed upon as well. Thus an all round personality of the candidates is taken into consideration. The interviews are held without any prejudice and selection will be based purely on merit.

Medical Examination and Eye-test
Candidates, who’ll pass the interview, will be directed to undergo medical examination conducted by company-appointed doctors who will also be conducting an Eye-Test which conforms to the requirements of medical examination rules of Directorate General of Shipping. The results of the medical/eye tests are directly forwarded to the company by the doctor.

Provisional Selection Letter
Candidates who’ll clear above selection procedure, will be issued with Provisional Selection Letter.
In order to reserve their seats at Academy and obtain Final Selection Letters, candidates will be required to submit following documents:

10th Std Original mark sheet

12th Std original mark sheet

B. Sc./ Graduation original mark sheet (if applicable)

Passport (either applied for or in possession)

Medical fitness report (directly received from company approved doctor)

2 passport size photos (kindly write your name behind the photo in pencil)

Payment of initial admission fees to "Anglo Eastern Maritime Academy".

Offer Letter from
Anglo-Eastern
Final Merit List will be prepared for provisionally selected candidates. Merit list gives adequate importance to various parameters including the academic percentage, score in Anglo-Eastern online test, interview score. Finally, selected candidates will be issued with a Final Offer Letter, joining instructions and fee structure details.
For March Batch, total 40 candidates will be selected from the Merit list.
